We are home, after nearly 5 wonderful weeks in (mostly) sunny QLD (LOL). Didn’t really want to come home to a cold Sydney winter.
I had a fabulous time at the Brisbane Scrapbook Expo and met some wonderful people, like Kim Jeffress (at the fabulous Scrapware stand), Leanne Love and some of my ‘bosses’ Tina Onegal from Practical Publishing and Mel from Kaisercraft. I wasn’t going to buy anything really, 3 hours on, I came out of the show (several hundred dollars later) with an absolute plethora of chipboard, liquid pearls and magazines. I loved the Scrapware demonstrations too. I took some pictures (which I’ll share very soon).
I also had the priveledge of spending the day scrapbooking at a gorgeous, and well-stocked, scrapbook store at Burleigh Heads called Creative Scrapbooking and met the lovely owner Maureen and some of the girls in her classes – Hi Val! And because the weather was a little off, I went there to scrap, not just chat (LOL) and got this page done using Websters Pages Country Estate – one of my favourite collections.

I used some Bo Bunny chipboard stickers.

Here’s another one I got done while away too. Its a little difficult to scrap on a beach table (LOL), but still fun all the same.

My kit has arrived from Anna’s craft cupboard, so I’d better make a start on that..and next week, I have a VERY exciting announcement to make…VERY VERY exciting! Stay tuned…

This is one of the sweetest photos I have ever taken of my littlest DD – she had been crying because she bumped her nose.

The chipboard butterfly is from Scrapware. I used the Ranger distress white paint on it but before I dried it, I sprinkled it with clear embossing powder, then inked around the edges of it.

The tiny hearts I bought off ebay.

I had to do a project for Kaiser using their mini stamps (and with so many to choose from, it was a bit hard norrowing it down) so I made a few instead of just one. They nearly all use the ‘Velvet’ collection.

I inked the buttercream rose with some burgandy ink and the co-ordinated stamps and tags make doing the sentiments so much easier.

I actually trimmed the patterned edge off one of the tag for this one. The flower is from Prima 2011 collection and out came my Martha Stewart frond punch once again.

Wedding seemed like the obvious theme with this collection. This next one uses the ‘Chapter One collection’.

And lastly, I don’t DO male cards very often but this reminded me of my Grandfather, so I thought I’d give a card for that age group a go. The embellishment seemed to good to not use one of these gramaphones.

Its simple but effective I think? can’t really ‘flower’ this sort of card up, can I? (LOL).

I am just beside myelf…over the moon..so excited…and still in shock, that my favourite artist of all time, Karola Witczak, not only noticed my work, but invited ME to be on the international Design Team at….
The ScrapCake.com.
Honestly ,when her email came into my Inbox well over a month ago now, I thought someone was having a little joke with me…until I realised it was for real – happy dancing around the loungeroom – woohoo!!! I must have read the email 4 times before I believed it, and then I woke up my poor husband because I just HAD to tell someone (he could tell I was excited – LOL).
So, here’s my new badge……………

And it is with the greatest of pleasure, after keeping this secret for weeks and weeks, that I show these, my very first projects – 2 cards using the beautiful colours of the TSC logo – a challenge that TSC recently had.

Unfortunatley, my DT announcement was delayed even further due to my DT kit being lost somewhere between Australia and Poland, and sadly never turned up, but a new one is on its way!
Karola’s beautiful collection ‘Spring Awakening’ (below) will be available in Australia very soon as well as that of the talented Kinga Spiczko’s ‘Little Monsters‘. - woohoo!!!

Now would be a great time to mention that you still have a few days to get your application in to be part of this amazing new company! But you’ll have to hurry – it closes June 10th!

And I have to tell you…there’s even more in store (but shhh…that’s top secret!) LOL – still can’t believe it! Gotta go and do more happy dance now.

I am just amazed at this Velvet collection by Kaiser because it has several different ‘themes’ you can go with all within this one set of papers & embellishments. There’s this sort of movie-star type theme that was great to tell my eldest DD on this layout, what a fabulous singing voice she has. (Honestly, if she had the confidence and a few lessons, she’d be one of those 9 year old instant stars on Australia’s Got Talent – really amazing and quite operatic). Every time she starts singing my DH and I look at each other in disbelief & amazement.

And then there’s a very classical & elegant opulence-type theme which is obvious with this Kaiser jewelry box.

And then another theme that looks very wedding-like.

I tried that Ranger Distress crackle paint on this chipboard heart too and I really like it. I put a fair bit of paint on then quick-dry it with a hair-dryer because I really like the big cracks you get. The stamp is Kaiser mini stamp (Wedding).
So I haven’t even used any of the teal-coloured papers yet – they remind me of mediterranean-type themes. So much in one little collection.
