CHOCOLATE GIFT POCKET

I made it so it can hang on a door handle or hook. Its just a piece of 6×12" papers folded with the front edge slightly longer than the back, creased at the end for a joining strip & glued, then a staple at the base ot hold the chocolates in with a button glued on to cover the staple.

You can fill it with your favourite chocolates. I told my kids they have to fill it up for me on Mothers day. (he he)

The little chipboard manequin is painted in Rangers crackle paint and then inked.

And the flowers are glued to the inside edge of the pocket. the false pocket is attached with double-sided tape.

An altered birdhouse

May 2nd, 2012 Filed under OTPs Tagged , ,

Hello again! I loved this wooden birdhouse the minute I laid eyes on it and I couldn’t resist using The ScrapCake paper from the MY PRIVATE HAPPINESS range and giving the whole thing a wintery feel, but painting the flower petal edges with a bit of acrylic white paint.

I love the TANEISHA flowers from Manor House Creations - they are so easy to use and ver handy for finishing a project off just nicely. They are a perfect accompaniment to The ScrapCake paper too.

Scrapcake Quotes week – tutorial

May 1st, 2012 Filed under layouts, Step x Step projects Tagged , ,

Hi everyone! I have a share today from some of my Design Team work for The Scrapcake. Its actually a tutorial too, so if you’d like to see how I did it, please jump over to the Scrapcake blog.

I had fun altering the Manor House flower, Plain Jane, too.

It was part of The Scrapcake QUOTES WEEK, and I loved this quote when I read it and it made me think of the photo I used that I hadn’t scrapped yet.

I made these ‘Raindrop’ flower from Manor House Creations, look more like snowflakes by pulling the back petals off and pinching the front petals.

For more tips and instructions on all the elements, please see The Scrapcake Blog.

Have you ever moved house? Literally??

April 30th, 2012 Filed under Uncategorized

LOL – we did…this weekend just passed.  I’m not kidding, we actually pulled the end of our house along 6 metres – along some steel girders, with grease, a winch and a bulldozer. my bright-spark husband and dad decided there was nothing wrong with the wall, so why not just move it and fill in the middle. My architect uncle approved it all, so off we went. It was a bit exciting …and nerve-racking too.  Here’s some pics…

The house before the wall was pulled.

My husband securing the chains to the bulldozer.

The house pulled 1 metre along the steel girders with my Dad and BIL checking all the time that it was pulling evenly.

The house pulled 6 metres apart! We did it! Yes, there was an audience (LOL).

We now have an open-air cinema (LOL). That’s my kitchen and lounge room.

Fortunately, friends came to help the next day with the roof, because there was a threat of rain earlier.

The temporary roof went up in record time.

Us trying to keep warm while watching TV in our open-air cinema that night (LOL). Needless to say, we’ve moved into the caravan.  (Excuse the bad photo too – I always manage to turn my head when a photo is being taken). But you get the idea…

Don’t worry, my crazy family does things like this all the time…(LOL).
